SA or LA???

yah i know this has been on here a bazillion times.. but im deploying soon.. while im over there im gonna be ordering the rest of the parts for my jeep..

currently on the list is:
* currie hd steering
*rokmen gas tank skid
*rokmen stryker corner guards
*front tube fenders

now the question is.. im gonna try and keep what i got now.. i can either throw my 2'' rear coils back in and crank up the front acos to make longarms work.. or go with all 8 currie adjustable short arms..

the longarm kit im lookin at would be the rubicon express lift.. im thinkin of buyin the 3.5'' kit and selln the 3.5'' coils

but at the same time if i do a la kit.. i wouldnt mind tri-linkin the rear..

any thoughts?

oh anyone with experience with RE's new Extreme Duty Rear Radius Arm System?

If it were me, I'd go with a full kit rather than part of a kit and trying to make it work with an existing set up. You'll have the peace of mind that everything in the suspension was made to work together.

No taxes, BAS, HFP, IDP, plus family separation--if it applies--really adds up over the course of a year. But then I'm single so no one else is dependent on my paycheck (or steals it all out of my bank account...Army wives....). My last year in the Army was in Iraq. It got me to a point where my Jeep is now essentially where I want it until I end up putting better axles underneath.

i got bills.. but hey.. 14 months of no taxes.. i cant complain.. ill have enough money saved up to do what i wanna do

im keeping my current setup bc of what ive assembled.. id rather keep my 2'' coils with my acos bc adding the 3.5'' coils on top of my acos.. way too much for 33's

i doubt ill go bigger on my tires with my axles.. piece of mind running 33s on my 30/44

If your going SA go with Roman instead of currie. Much better quality and adjustability few the extra 200. They are huge. I just put them under my jeep.

you mean rokmen? ive never heard of roman before..

ive looked into the rokmen control arms.. and yes they are beefy.. theres a few good vendors to get the CAs from.. for some reason ive just seen GREAT reviews on the currie.. and ive always liked their stuff

Ha, ya Rokmen. My phone does auto spell check and I didn't catch that. Do a search on the comparisons of the two. Rokmen uses the currie jonny joints on their CA's too except they use the better of the two j.joint models which currie doesn't. Also the tubing that Rokmen uses is HUGE. further more and most importantly currie's CA's don't adjust past stock length. What's the point of adjustable CA's that don't adjust out. Do some research on the two and you will be surprised. I talked to both companies on the phone and It was a no brained for me...:D

Not sure you would get the bennefit or justify the work of the LAs with only 2in coils and spacers. Short arms are enough to not bind over the length of your stock coils and there is barely enough travel to cause drastic caster changes. SAs with one bushing end and one rod end should be good for 2in lifts. IMO, 4in and up is where you need the LA.

He's also running JKS ACOS on top of the 2'' coils..(minimum 1.5 front lift and min, 2'' rear lift)
Adjustable up to 3.75'' lift in front/3.375'' in rear.

My last TJ had RE's 4.5" long arm suspension and while it was good 80% of the time, those long arms sure love to get hung up on the rocks. I'm now running a Currie 4" short arm lift and I'm stoked with how well it does on the trail. Only with something taller than 4.5" or so would I want a slightly longer arm. Ride-wise, my short arms ride fine on the street.

My opinion is go with the LA, and stay with the 3.5. I have a 4 inch lift and 33 it looks good. Im more of a build it once person, so if i have the money and i will want it later thats what ill get.

i have 33s..

im leaning to the sas jerry.. like i said.. ive heard great reviews on their stuff..

and distorteds right.. my jeep sits way higher than just 2'' of lift

TNT offers a LA upgrade kit that includes a rear tri-link and alot are running it with 2-3" lifts and the Hy-Line Fenders or any tube fenders for extra clearance.

I voted Clayton SA kit. They are a bit less expensive, indestructable, and have a life time warrenty. I have them sitting in my living room waiting to go on.

I have the very 1st prototype Clayton SA kit from them. Very cool guys worked with them over the phone to help make the SA kit a reality.

Love the Clayton SA kit, I have mad flex out of it for having a 4" lift and running 33's, soon to be 36's this spring.
