There is the Main Divide, which is open a very limited time and will put you out on the Ortega Hwy which puts you out of the way quite a bit. But to my understanding there is not a trail that drops you down into Cooks Corner or any trails nearby.

The exit to Silverado Canyon works, i have been all threw on the roads by Irvine lake but never from corona.
Well next time someone goes let me know I would like to tag along. Is it mostly fire roads? not that it matters.

Thank You

For the most part it is fire roads and if you take the Santiago Peak trail offshoot you'll get a really nice overlook of the city below & Catalina Island in the distance that's in a clear day of course. It makes a cool spot to have lunch with a view

Like Aftahour said coming from Corona Bedford Dr is the best and almost always open. There is also Indian Truck Trail by Toms Farms. You can also go up through Corona at Skyline Dr. but you will need a key. You can take these to the peak then out through Maple Springs/Silverado Canyon. A nice scenic drive with minimal offshoots.

I have always taken Ortega to Silverado. Haven't explored around any of the off shoots down to Corona or Wildomar OHV. If anyone wants to make a day through Wildomar and trying to find the road to Corona from the Santiago peak, I am in!

I want to try it, doesn't sound like it's to challenging, I use to ride dirt bikes up to the peak from the restaurant on Chapman back in the late 60's and early 70's before development.
I can possibly go Sunday if I get my work done!!!

Sounds like fun since I never been on the off shoot roads and Wildomar OHV in the Jeep except for Main Divide & Santiago Peak

I remember Wildomar being a really small park and when I did go I use to ride an ATV there

Unfortunately I cannot wheel until I put in my new axle with gears and lockers. Went to change my rear diff oil and found 3 big chunks of gear on the drain plug. Should have it done by the end of Feb!!

Hey guys! I've been on most of these trails. I always check this site before I hit the trail. -http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/cleveland/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5340229
Currently it states Maple Springs road is closed. The site is normally pretty acurate. If you took Bedford road (4S03) or Indian Truck trail (5S01) you could travel south across the main divide and end up at Ortega HWY. I can't go this weekend but would consider it in the future. Of course I am on the Orange county side. I normally take Ortega and go Noth across the divide.

Did you guys ever get out and check this out?

R8DRIZD, You get your Axle replaced yet? Doesn't sound like a good find, you must wheel pretty hard!

Anyway, I'm new to Jeepin in OC and would like to get out and check out this area this Sat. I would rather go with someone that has experience on these trails. Anyone planning on going out already, or interested this weekend?
