Salt damage on NEW aluminum rims

3747 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Triple88a
I've just washed my Jeep for the first time since it had snowed and I noticed a lot of salt damage to my NEW MT Classic II rims. I've just bought some BlueMagic metal polish cream and Eagle One nevr-dull. I was wondering what everyone else uses to remove the corrosion from the salt. Thanks for the help.

painted or coated alu rims shouldn´t become damaged by salt.
all the peoples i know drivetheir alu rims also in the winter. and nobody ever had a problem.
but if the rims are scratched salt could damage them.

mt classic II's arent clear coated, just polished aluminum
polished aluminium? in the winter with salt on the road? i wouldn´t do that...
well take a drill and a polishing wheel and some compound and polish them again and then clear coat them. Bare aluminum is like bare steel it will rust up in no time especially in salt.
