I'm sure most of you have seen my "Sarge" on the forum pages, but I wanted to make a thread to show him off now that (I think) I'm finished with the majortity of the modifications.

I'm definitely not old enough to have been in the Air Corps but the military theme was done as a tribute both to the Jeep heritage and to my Dad who spent some time in the Army Air Corps as well as to my 26 years in the Air Force.

With only a couple of exceptions I tried to stick with authentic circa 1941 Air Corps markings. I based the markings on a vehicle assigned to the 7th Troop Carrier Squadron, the original designation of the first airlift squadron I was assigned to when I started flying in the Air Force as a Loadmaster.

It's taken me a couple of years and allot of overtime money, but here he is in all his glory:

In anticipation of questions, here are all his particulars:
  • Tires & wheels:
    • 315/75R16 Wrangler Duratrac tires
    • 16" ProComp 7069 wheels
  • Lift: 2.5" Rock Krawler Stock Mod with Blistein shocks.
  • Bumpers:
    • Rampage Full Size Recovery in the front
    • Bestop Highrock 4X4 in the rear
  • Winch: Engo 12k
  • Lights:
    • Trucklight LED headlights
    • Rigid Dually D2s @ the windshield
    • KC Daylighters on the bumper
    • Warrior license plate relocation bracket with 3rd brake light
    • Warrior steel tail light brackets with generic LED tail lights
    • A single Rigid Dually for a rear work light.
  • Side armor: Rubicon Rails with Ace Rock Rails
  • Fenders: Ace Wide Tubular
  • Interior:
    • Trek Armor seat covers front and rear.
    • Tuffy security console in the front and security enclosure in the rear.
    • Quadratec floor mats
    • I removed the carpet and Monstalined the tub.
    • Metra touch screen stereo/GPS with a Tuffy enclosure.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Die-tech mirror relocation brackets
    • Antenna-X stubby antenna
    • Spiderweb shade
    • Hi-lift jack (Say what you want about hi-lifts but it's 40 years old and was my Dad's)
  • Military Markings:
  • EDIT: I found a place where you can get the stars, custom hood numbers and a few other misc. decals cheaper than what I did. It is called Solar Graphics
Just so you know Sarge isn't just another pretty face, I've done several mods you can't see.

· Lockers: Yukon Zip lockers front and rear.
· Swaybar, front: JKS Quicker Disconnects.
· Swaybar, rear: Currie Anti-rock.
· On board air: Viair heavy duty compressor.
· Axle armor: Full Artec armor kit on front axle as well as Terafles HD diff covers.
· Misc. armor: Rock Hard evap canister skid and gas tank plating.

This is when I first got him:

My only shots of flexing:

The reason I got flat fenders:

Here are the poser shots:

And here are the military markings (okay, so the zombie outbreak stickers don't fit the theme: blame my wife)

It's about time you made a thread about Sarge! Your Jeep is more than just bad ass, it gives off a message that no other vehicle can give. I'm making a"Black Hawk" military theme for my jeep. Black out, modern day military decor and setup. Yours is a perfect setup for a contribution to the Willy's and old time vets (such as your and my father) Your jeep gives off a "Hey remember that green thing on the battle field that kicked your ass during the war? Yeah, I'm back" kind of look, good job man!

Nice! My dad was in the Air Corps... 2nd Air Commando Group stationed in Burma. I was quite the surprise for him, I think. He was almost 50 when I was born. ;)
