have you done anything recently to the tranny? if not then you can drain the fluid and look for brass shavings/flakes in the oil if you dont see anything out of the normal you can try new fluid it probably wont change anything but its cheap. make sure you have the correct fluid in it, most take automatic transmission fluid, some take motor oil. After all of that if you still have the same issue then its inside the tranny, especially if its only 3rd and not any other gears..
