Can anyone tell me if this is a trail I could ride with a stock 2012 rubicon? I just want to take a nice drive with my kids and not have to worry about running into an obstacle I cant handle....since I dont know exactly what the capabilities of the Rubicon are. I am in DSM so it is a long drive up and back.

A 2012 Rubi?! OH YEAH! The Rubicon package is THE most capable of all of the stock packages. Granted, I do not know of nor have ever been to the place you are speaking of... But I would not be worried about much that you can encounter in Iowa with your baby - excluding the more challenging areas of the JOCCI and MIOBI parks - just don't get stupid with it. :p If you come across an area you aren't so sure about - get out and take a little walk and asses the terrain to see the best "line" you can take.

Personally, I would not be worried about it at all. You'll be surprised what you could get through without all the fancy bells and whistles that the new Wrangler models come with - even without the Rubicon package. But I can understand your concern since you're bringing the kids along. :thumb:

I drove by there this weekend to see and went for a walk in there. Didn't see anything too flooded. Saw a small tree on the road but nothing that couldn't be moved fairly easy though.

I found out this weekend that the Greenbelt is closed and while remain so for some time. The road is completely washed out in several spots and many trees are down. The county doesn't have the man power to clean it up. :(

well isn't that a bummer. do you know of any other places to take a nice leisurely off road stroll on 4 wheels? Never been to the greenbelt but it sounded like a nice easy trek.
