Shift knob screw replacement

1127 Views 10 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Willish
Hi there, hopefully I'm in the right place?

I'm trying to find where I can get spares of the 2 small screws on each side of the knob.

If it's something simple like Lowes etc what would they be called and what size etc.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum!
Extract, carry it to Lowe’s, Home Depot or fastenal.
if you have a thread gauge, even better. It’s likely metric. I don’t know for certain though.

They are called Hex Bolts.
Only removing one will determine the length/size
I found them at Lowes "Socket Cap Screws" unfortunately they don't sell that size, it's smaller than they carry.

Hmmm
It’s not a machine screw.
Try fastenal

The thread shape is very unusual. I’m not sure if you’ll find them outside the dealership.

Try a hobby shop. Especially one that features model trains or planes.
ACE Hardware, Look in both places in the hardware isle. They have their standard bins of specialty hardware and a full section of vehicle specific hardware (foreign and domestic) At least my ACE does.....

Ace doesn't have it, ive tried a lot of places, I'm thinking I'll have to contact mopar maybe or goto a dealer, that or buy a junk part off ebay, seen a few there with the screws in.
