Removing the shift knob should be pretty easy or am I missing something? The one on my 4x4 stick simply screws off. The one on the gear shift, not so much.. Any ideas on how to get that one off?

Yes, it screws on too. Try wrapping a rag on it and get some long channel locks on it, will twist right off.

There's a metal collar on the bottom of mine that I just got on with a set of channel locks and unscrewed it off.

Just be careful. Thought I could just twist it off too. Used a cresent wrench and thought it was working fine till it just snapped right off. No biggy just cleaned it up and welded on a bolt and did some custimizing.

I pounded a pine apple grenade over mine. The hole in the bottom of it so you can tell its not loaded with a charge is like perfict fit for the shifter column

That's cool. Stuff like that you can do to a jeep. try it with any other vehicle.

Cannot get the lock nut to budge. Been going at it for 10 minutes with channel locks. Thing won't move
