so I have an 11 JK and for the life of me I can not remove the side markers. I want to install the rugged ridge side marker guards!

And yeah, I have the instructions from Rugged Ridge, but I must be doing something wrong.

Any help is appreciated.

Wow, I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd join the OP and put it out there again. I have a '13 JKU and have installed all of the Rugged Ridge light guards without an issue, but can't figure out these side marker lights (even with the instructions).
Anybody install these? Any advice for an easier installation?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I just made a great discovery the other day which I thought might be valuable to anyone trying to install these fender flare side marker light guards.

I ordered the complete set from Quadratec a month back, which included the rear lights, front lights, fog lights, turn signal lights and gave up half way through after running in to snags installing the side marker ones. I blame the instructions. Basically, they have you pull back on the fender flare outer lining, and then remove one plastic butterfly rivet from the inner fender flare lining, which should give you access to your side marker light, which you're supposed to remove. DON'T. YOU WILL BREAK IT. They have this flimsy tab on the top that is almost guaranteed to break off.

Instead, leave the marker light in, and remove one more plastic rivet, the next one back, on that inner flare lining. By doing this, it will give you more than enough room to just slide that light guard right in to place.

Also, if you ever have trouble popping out a rivet, I like to use a small hex key (allen wrench) to pop them out, since it's small but sturdy enough.

If this helps one person install light guards, then my mission is complete. :)
