Side mirrors for softies?

1141 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Rayko
I run soft doors year round and it's getting to be a hazard without any side mirrors when the rear window ices up. I been looking around the web for mirror kits and only finding a few that aren't really great in reviews. Does anyone know a nice mirror kit for one or both sides that does not re-use factory mirrors because I do not have ANY mirror to use.

Thanks

I bought a set at advanced auto that bolt to the windshield. Paid around $50 for the set. They werent bad for what i paid and in the summer you are good to go when the doors are off
Got a link or part number for them?
Bump?

I bought CIPA 44800 mirrors from Q-tec since they said it would work with my soft doors but they were only 1/2 right. The driver's side works ok and I can see the rear but limits how far I can open my door. The passenger side is worthless unless I bend it all the way forward and then I cannot open my door LOL. Waste of $26 but oh well.
I just installed rugged ridge quick release mirrors. I really like them so far

I was reading up on those and reviewers said the mirrors go limp after a while. It seems the socket loosens up or something. How's the view on the passenger side?

Ive had them for a few days. The directions tell you to put them here

I didn't like that so I put them up higher. So that eliminates the poor visibility issue on the passenger side. So for (3 days) I like them. Now your door will hit them but a cheap easy fix is go to Walmart and get adjustable straps.

$1.67 each.
or make you own for only a few cents cheaper http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/2-00-homemade-door-straps-write-up-147259.html

EDIT: for the driver side you will need to rotate the arm 90 degrease(cant remember what direction) so the arm will be facing the correct direction.
I bought some factory mirrors off craigslist and used them with the soft half door mirror brackets.

I purchased the Quadratec Replacement mirrors for when I run my 1/2 steel doors. They worked real good for me. Didn't get the vibration that the relocated type mirrors get on the h-way.
The only problem is going thru the auto car wash with brushs', it knocks them around a bit. So, when I'm running them, I go to hand washs.
