ok so I know I've posted about this topic before. I need to get something to cover where my exhaust downpipe comes off the header, the oil pan and transmission. is this the engine skid plate that I need? I want something that isn't going to be too expensive but will provide the coverage I need to protect from those grizzly rocks.

Yes, engine skid will do that. Might I recommend Jeep Medic. I have their engine skid and their belly skid. Awesome quality and I would highly recommend them.

Rusty's has a good price on a engine skid, around $170

I love my Warn skid. It covers from the front of the engine to the factory T-case skid and only cost $147. I've balanced my Jeep on it on rocks and it doesn't even scratch.

thanks for the info, I have a buddy who's wife works for warn so when I go to buy the winch that I want from him I think that I'm gonna get the skid, and front and rear bumpers too.
