Just my 2cents,
They bolted right onto my 2012 2 door w/ no problem at all 15 min. Total.
Look great and very sturdy, gotta take off that yellow emblem right away though.
What were they thinking?
Your lucky....I have to wallow out a few holes...I was pretty upset last night

I took off my yellow emblems, but it left a bunch of sticky foam behind. I figure it either will eventually come off, or I'll figure out a way to remove it.
Just throw some GooGone on there and it will come off easy enough.:thumb:

All you had to do is dremel out those holes a little bit more. It probably took you longer to box them back up than it would have to get them mounted. We all have the same problem. Your holes were not any further off than mine. The trick is NOT to tighten the other side, so you have SOME play. It took me 30 minutes to do this, and the only reason it took 30 minutes is that I didn't know about this. Had I read a thread like this, it would have taken 10 minutes.

Also, my other Smittybilt parts fit like a glove. The reason these have issues is that the manufacturer has their jig set up wrong, thus, all our stuff is off by the same amount.

I had mine ground out enough to the point where I was going to need a washer....for that priceyou shouldn't have to grind on them lol im ordering ace rails

In all honesty, this thread, especially my post far above, said that this IS an issue. It seems to me that you tightened the hell out of the other end of the rail, giving yourself no play at all. I needed to grind out about 1/4" or so, which gave me just enough room to get it on. Ace rails are great as well, and the fitment will be spot on.

I didn't even have the other side attached tho..wen you looked at it it was extremely noticeable how tweaked that end was

I'm kind of on the fence about the smittybilt rails. They look awesome, but the fact they mount to the tub and some serious doubts I have about the manufacturer are leading me torwards different products.

How are the smittybilt rails holding up for you guys that purchased them?

They do mount to the tub but they are mounted to the beefy bolts on the tub, not on some thin sheetmetal. If you slam something hard enough that would cause the rails to damage the Jeep itself, you will have much bigger issues to worry about.

Ditto on the door dings. Excellent protection.
