I've been working through some electrical issues, related to my jeeps previous owners hacked up wiring modifications. It all started with the all too common "left turn signal flashes dim and fast" issue.
I have worked through most all of the repairs, but today, I noticed that when the hazard lights were flashing, I could see a little smoke coming out from the dash, just above the instrument panel.
I took the panel off, and can find no sign of damage, burnt wires, or anything I would relate to the smoke.
Can anyone share their opinion with me as to whether or not it might be a wire still crossed somewhere, or if it may be the hazard/ turn signal switch itself has gone bad?
Thank you, from one TJ'er to another :Thanx:

That sounds scary. I can only imagine having your hazards flashing while you change a flat on the side of the road....then flames and tears follow.
