I just picked up a factory hardtop a could of days ago. After putting it on the Jeep, I notice it is REALLY loud above 40mph or so. Previously the Jeep has only had a softtop.

Here is the question, is there a different gasket for the top of the winshield for hardtops v softtops? I was told it is the same by one person and there is no gasket by another.

Previously I've had a YJ and CJ... this wasn't an issue there.

i have a '02 Sahara that came with the factory duel-top option and both tops use the same gasket/seal at the top of the windshield. If your hardtop is making a lot of wind noise in that area the top might not be installed correctly at the windshield junction or maybe that seal is gone/degraded.

Where the top latches to the front try adding a small piece of sheet metal to the grove where it latches into the top. sometimes 1/8 of an inch in the grove of the top will make a huge differance. I just bent a small piece and laid it in the grove and it helped.

I rolled up a little duct tape and put it on the end of the hook holding the top down onto the windshield frame... killed the vast majority of the wind noise.
