A limited-run version of the Jeep brand’s return to the pickup truck market, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition, has sold out in the limited pre-order opportunity. The unique Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition was offered for pre-order to the general public on Jeep 4×4 Day, April 4. The pre-order process, including selecting a Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition and connecting with a dealer, allowed buyers to start the ordering process online through a dedicated Jeep Gladiator Concierge.
“There has been significant interest in the all-new Jeep since it was first revealed late last year,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Jeep Brand – North America. “This was made further evident by the incredible response of the 4,190 soon-to-be Gladiator Launch Edition owners, who pre-ordered their vehicles yesterday.

...and here we are over six weeks later and not a single one has been delivered yet. Jeep really dropped the ball on this. It's been a fiasco. I'm one of the 4190 and my dealer is guiding me to mid-June for delivery. So, I get another month of reading about/seeing pics of others with their new Gladiators and I can stare at my empty driveway "Launch Edition."

I think you are missing the point: People ordered the "launch edition" on 4.4.19 and regular dealer orders were built ahead of those launch orders and are now sitting a lots/being sold while the "launch edition" has not been made/sold and can no longer can be considered that :lmao:

Reminds me of the J. G. Wentworth commercials...

Instead of “it’s my money and I want it now”.

It’s “my Gladiator, and I want it now”..

Haha.

I took the launch edition as a special edition to celebrate the launch of the vehicle. If you had followed comments on ordering regular versions of the JK/JKU and JL/JLU you would know that it is normal for there to be a 6 to 10 delay between submission of the order and delivery at the dealer.

Besides, most of us would never want one of the first few to come down the line. There are always small glitches in the first ones down the line as the assembly team learns the process.

"Regular versions..." This was something that FCA offered to Jeep enthusiasts. It is a Launch Edition in a fixed configuration with a fixed number of units. Perhaps they should've been prepared for a demand of 4190 units. Perhaps based on studies they could've pre-made say ~2K units in colors available for the LE and had them available for immediate delivery and the balance completed in short order. Nope. It's almost as though this "surprised" them. They missed out on having 4190 rolling advertisements for the model within a 2 week window. No one should still be waiting on a Launch Edition almost 2 months later.

This isn’t their first special edition. I didn’t have this problem with my 10A (1 of 5,000) and Red Rock (1 of 50).

Perhaps Jeep product management is trying to copy the Toyota Supra Launch Edition and got off to late start. If you want to see top-notch “Launch Edition” marketing execution, Google the new Toyota Supra. Now that’s a Launch Edition...

This was FCA’s lame way to get the press release of another midsize truck where the market is saturated with newly designed trucks, e.g. Tacoma, Colorado, Frontier, Ranger, etc. etc.

The Ranger is off to a slow start...
