Jackie, I think he's referring to Dynomat he just mispelled it. Dynomat is a noise reducing barrier that you put on trunk lids etc... when you have subs to deaden the sound waves reducing vibrations in your sheet metal.

Dynomat or something similar works wonders. Some even use it to apply to their floorboards before line'xing the interior to help with noise.

My Tuffy console has dynamat inside for the Kicker sub. I use Polyfil (available at craft stores and WallyWorld) for the soundbar. It is like 3.00 for a bag. Putting this in the soundbar helps the sound response and the sound has to 'travel' more around it.

You could, but I dunno how easy that dynamat would get in there. Once it sticks on something, it's damn near impossible to remove. :)

I put the polyfill in the soundbar.
I put the dynamat in the subwoofer enclosure (Tuffy) in the center console. Here is the area, just before the dynamat went in...
