New Jk. The sound bar buzzes with any bass. I know It's not the speakers themselves because I can stop the buzzing by grabbing the bar tightly. Anyone else have this happen and how do I fix?

Make sure all the screws are tight

There has been a ton of threads on this topic. Some stuff with polyfill others dynamat and polyfill. I went to the extreme and stiffened mine up with fiberglass, expanding foam, dynamat and polyfill. Search and you will find.

I had this same problem, I determined it was my dome light cover rattling. after I replaced the incandecent dulb with an LED, I applied a bead of clear silicone to the cover and reinstalled it. No more rattle, and easy enough to take it off if I need to for some reason.:thumb:

Are you using sub's in your soundbar? I can't imagine that Chrsyler Jeep would build a sound system where the sound bar rattles. Therefore, I would assume it is a screw problem, or you are running subs in your sound bar. Subs are best facing down, coming from below, or it defeats the acoustic purpose and feel, in my opinion. Shake the car, not the soundbar.

I had this as well. It stopped as soon as I stuffed the sound bar with poly fill. Give it a shot. All it'll cost is a pillow.

I found that 5 of the 6 bolts were loose and tightening them up made a big difference LOL. I'm going to stuff the bar this AM anyway.

Glad I could help.:D

I had a problem where my rear soundbar speaker was hanging by one screw. Of course, mine was a screw problem. Now, I'm having all sorts of speaker wire issues because my amp is going into protection mode and shutting off. And my new Alpine amp is cold. I had the same problem with my Power acoustic amp. So, I have to check all my speaker wires to make sure they were connected properly. It's clear that I probably have some crossed or shorted speaker wires somewhere. Probably because of the hanging speaker. This is going to be a big job for me. My problem was obviously due to a crappy installation by a supposedly professional installer. And these installers want to blame it on me. Once I find the problem, I'm going to rip them a new one.

I have the same issue with bass rattling the soundbar. But I traced the buzz n rattle of the sound bar to be the dome light. I guess I'll pop it off and try the silicone idea.

How do you remove it though??

Oh and the person with the power amp issue shutting off-is that an amp installed at the factory or dealer? Or aftermarket job? If its aftermarket, your amp may be going into protection mode because its either not getting enough power from the car-which I doubt because if that was the case it's exceeding the amount of power at the fuse and you're dealing with DC in a car so its a fixed current. or its trying to use more power than its rated for. Which means your speakers are pulling more power than it can give. Also, if the speaker wire is too thin, that would cause the wires to hear up and again make the amp work harder since there isn't enough resistance on the cable.

Day 2 of owning the '14 JKU - Stock stereo, non-alpine, sound bar rattles like crazy with bass. Sounds like it's the dome light, I might try putting a thin bit of tape on any contact surfaces since I don't have silicon on hand.

This worked well with Gorilla Tape (thick) in my prior vehicle on the overhead compartments.

Debating if I want to stuff the bar or not, because if I can't resolve the rattle then I might just let the dealer play with it. If they find a dead pillow up there I might get some weird looks.

And.... Spent 10 minutes stuffing poly fill toward the light from each speaker in the soundbar. Packed it tight, tested it out, rattles completely gone.

For an added bonus tossed some Polk 651s up there and basked in slightly improved, but good enough for now audio!

Did the poly fill to the sound bar in my 2014 juju. No more rattles and actually sounds better. Still going to do a speaker upgrade tho.

If it was my new JKU, I would take it back to the dealer. It shouldn't be that way. I always let the dealer handle any problems under the warranty period. That way, they can't say that I caused the problem and void my warranty.

i Have the same problem,( JKRU X ) along with water leaks when it rains. i will bring it to the dealer when i need an oil change in 3 months. New $45,000 vehicles shouldn't have these problems....just saying.

Human error. It happens because we're human. I know how you feel with the money you spent, but that's the point of a warranty. I think you have three years to make sure everything is top notch.

I drive a TJ but my SB vibrates and buzzes with too much bass, and at higher volume regardless of the bass. I've traced it to the "dome" light cover. If I push it up firmly, the buzz goes away for a little while.

YMMV, and invariably will...

hey, when you say you stuffed your sound bar with poly fill, how exactly did you do that? I’m new to car lingo so if you could break it down that would be great. Thank you
