has anyone ever had any problems with water rolling down the side of the soundbar and into the speakers and ruining them?

i put my bikini top on the other day which doesnt cover the soundbar and poured a little water to see where it would go and it went right into the groove where the speaker is....i'm worried that if it rains a lot more water will go into them and ruin them, but i'm not sure how well protected they are for that sort of thing.

should i be worried? i'm trying to think of things i can make that will serve as some kind of driprail for the soundbar so that water will fall off the side of it, rather than go into the speaker, but perhaps there's no need for that and i'm just being paranoid....

any experiences with this?

thanks,
rob

That's true, but the safari top looks like crap.

Anyway, water and electrical devices don't get along so well.

I have a bikini top. I live in the NorthEast (for now). We've gotten more rain than Seattle this year. I've never had a problem with my sound bar. However, the stereo is FAR from water proof. Never ever ever leave the stereo exposed.

What do you drive?

I know Mopar makes a bikini top that does cover the speakers I Drive with the Bikini Top all the time on my TJ when the top is off and I've been poured on and never had a problem.

Go topless. Because after all rain water will roll down the side of the soundbar but it will not roll UP into the speaker. I live in akron ohio and i haven't put my drain plugs back in since the first of june.

Yup, Mine has gotten wet numerous times (read every time it's rained in AZ for the past 3 years) and to no detriment of the speakers. They are almost blown, but thats not the waters fault. :D

I got a 03 TJ. Right now I am watching it rain on my Jeep with no top what-so-ever. I have yet to have a problem with the speakers. You might want to upgrade in the future and buy you a set of polypropylene (fancy word for rubber) speakers. They will sound better, last longer and be a wee bit more "water proof" hope all this helps
