I have P255/ 75R17 tires from my purchase in 2016. I have more than 50,000 miles. When I am ready to change my tires, I want to have P285 70R17. I am wondering if I need spacer. According to my research, it requires a tire spacer. Any idea?
You can always try it without the spacer and see if it rubs (and if it rubs enough to bother you). Or you can try to measure current clearance and subtract half the increase in tire width from that and see if you still have a positive number (a negative number would mean it will rub).
Or, as mentioned, you can just get a set of quality 1.25" wheel spacers and go with that.
