I have a wrangler with a 4 cylinder that runs fine when it is cranked up cold but after I drive about a mile and a half I can smell rich fuel from the exhaust and it just barely runs. Sputters terribly but then does fine for however long I drive, provided I don't turn off the key because if I do, I will drive a mile an a half and go through a terrible sputtering for about 15 to 20 seconds then does just fine. Any suggestions?

I believe there is a tsb on this for vapor lock. Depending on your year, it's possible that the heat from the exhaust/intake is heating up the gasoline before it gets into the engine, causing it to vaporize in the fuel rail. This may or may not be your issue, but it's worth looking into.
