My steering wheel has started to squeak when turning it around. I'll take the dash panels off one of these days to see if I can find what's wrong, but I figured I would check here to see if this happens often to other TJ's

That is a common problem that is easily fixed. Spray the steering wheel shaft where it passes through the rubber grommet on the fire wall with white lithium grease.

It becomes more noisy as winter sets in. :D The noise usually goes away after the engine is warmed up and warms up the rubber grommet.

That's true, it does go away. But I sprayed some grease at it and fixed it.
