I have gone to the hardware store about five times and can't find anything on Google. Does anyone know the bolt size and thread pitch for the two bolts that go through the dash into the upper bracket behind the dash for the steering column? It is the two bolts right in front of the steering wheel.

Are you talking about the nuts?
There are two studs that the saddle of the steering column fasten to

Should be two bolts/screws. Two holes right above the actual steering column on the dash.

It is the two holes right above the large hole for the column. I know this dash is for a CJ7 but I'm fairly certain YJ's have them also because I'm using a YJ body. There is a bracket behind there that's connected to the column and helps anchor everything down so there isn't movement.

My YJ is a 1987. On the bottom of the brace that goes along the bottom of the dash panel, there is a bracket that holds the steering column to the dash. There's two studs that stick down from that bracket. The plate that's part of the steering column pushed up over these two studs and it's secured by two nuts.
It should be pretty obvious.

If you don't have that type of setup, you should post a good pic or two of what you do have.
I'm guessing you want to use a CJ dash in a YJ. Others have done this, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get information on how to proceed, but we need more information on exactly what you have and how you want to proceed.

Good Luck, L.M.
