Hi, I'm confused. I'm wanting to replace the dampers on the front end of my 87 because the damper bodies are dented and damaged. All images I've seen show only a single steering damper. I'm confused because underneath mine there is a damper running horizontal from axle to tie rod, and another running from passenger side frame to steering push rod.
Anybody know what the other is called? I want to order the correct part. Thanks

On my 90 YJ the one from the long tie rod link to the Axle is the Factory one. The one to the frame is not on mine.

The YJ comes stock with only 1. It runs from the axle to the tie rod. And its correct name is a steering stabilizer.

Unless you are running extremely large tires, you will only need the 1. I have 35's and the stock stabilizer works fine for them.
