When I turn the wheel hard or jerk it, while its still moving only, the steering wheel that is. I get this strange sound that sounds like something is rubbing, I can also feel the sound through my hands on the wheel and my foot on the gas or brake. If I turn it slowly then it doesn't make the rubbing sound.

Have you checked to see if the tires are rubbing anywhere under the fenders or against the frame?

There is a little boot around the steering column where it runs thru the firewall into the engine compartment. Slide the boot up and spray the knuckle underneath with white lithium grease. I just had to do this a couple months ago. My Jeep was quiet until it sat for 2 weeks and the temp dropped. I am going to go spray it again...

Thanks! After I posted this I got to work and had someone turn it for me while I listened and heard it at the firewall
