Anyone in the Delmarva area please keep your eyes open for my stolen jeep. It's a Silver 2011 JKU Sport with a soft top and clear windows. It was stolen from our driveway on Lewes Beach on Saturday night (Oct 6th).

The jeep has Rubicon wheels & tires (BFG Mud Terrain), Smitty Built side step bars, and a "HiddenHitch" long receiver in the back with a D-Shackle in the receiver. Also there was a tan child seat and blue booster seat in the back.

It also has a Delaware Lighthouse plate with tag number 166978. On the front there is a Delaware surf fishing tag that expires December '12.

Please keep your eyes open and call the police or message me of you see it. Thanks!

Hope you get your Jeep back in one piece. One downside to the Sports is no alarm system. They have an immobilizer for the ignition but that is it. A soft top and a non locking hood would make it even easier to steal.

Here's an update. They have not caught the person who took the Jeep. It was found behind a store not two miles from my house with the doors locked and the keys inside. It appears as if they had used the vehicle for a couple days and then ditched it. They didn't do any damage to it and didn't even take anything. They didn't even take it off road which is surprising since the Jeep has a permit to drive on many of the local beaches. The police are running some prints but I am just happy to have it back and in one piece.

Some of you had asked how it happened. The jeep doesn't have an alarm (24C package). We never lock it up since it's a soft top and we would rather not have the top cut, however we did forget a spare set of keys inside the vehicle. The cops think some kids were looking for change and they came across the keys and couldn't resist. It's too bad for them because they are facing some pretty serious charges if the prints come back with a match.

I'm just really happy to have it back and I'm thinking that I will get lojack or something similar in the future. We live in a quiet beach town and never thought that anything like this would happen here so keep that in mind. If it can happen here it can happen anywhere.
