So I know this is bad but I haven't had the money in a while to fix it, but about 6 months ago I had a new crate motor installed, a few months later I started getting a ticking/clacking sound that's very loud near the front of the engine which sounds almost like a collapsed lifter, it does it all the time from the moment I start the jeep until I turn it off but it seems to kind of dampen slightly when I press the gas. And now a whirring/whisteling noise just started whenever I press the accelerator almost like a bad bearing coming from the alternator/distributor area. One person told me a bad lifter another told me a rocker arm or bad timing chain tensioner, any ideas on what it may be or a way to test?
