So I know this is bad but I haven't had the money in a while to fix it, but about 6 months ago I had a new crate motor installed, a few months later I started getting a ticking/clacking sound that's very loud near the front of the engine which sounds almost like a collapsed lifter, it does it all the time from the moment I start the jeep until I turn it off but it seems to kind of dampen slightly when I press the gas. And now a whirring/whisteling noise just started whenever I press the accelerator almost like a bad bearing coming from the alternator/distributor area. One person told me a bad lifter another told me a rocker arm or bad timing chain tensioner, any ideas on what it may be or a way to test?

Exhaust leak?

You could take the belts off to see if the noise changes.

you could remove the valve cover and verify there are no loose rockers.

Its not an exhaust leak it did it even before I installed a new exhaust it sounds like a loud fast chattering sound I could try uploading a video to see if anyone could identify it? Iv also been getting a fuel injector control code and that its running lean
