hi - this may be a stupid question - but how do swaybar disconnects work, and how are they disconnected and reconnected ?
i know the reason for a swaybar and that disconnecting them will allow more "flex" in the vehicle, which is advantageous in some situations - i have just never seen them in action - does anyone have any photos ?

Quick Disconnects - disco's

Never a dumb question, if you have never seen one. This is what it looks like.

To disconnect the sway bar, you pull the two pins, pull out the center bar, and presto, you are disconnected from your sway bar.

Hope this was what you were looking for.

They have two different lengths, one for stock(picture above), and one for a 4" lift, which is usually straight. This is made by Warrior, and is probably the cheapest method. They have some that you just turn a knob, and it automatically disengages. But those cost more than buying a AntiRock system by Currie. Many choices in this department.

Just a foot note. These are a pain in the ass, if you are not perfectly level when putting them back in. A little trick, sharpen the ends of the pins, so they will be a little easier to re-install. I bought a pair of these when I did my 4" lift, and never used them. I saw the Currie AntiRocks, and put those on instead. More pricey, but zero hassle. I leave them in the middle position, and never have to touch anything going from street to off road.

ok judging by both pics - the disconnects run from the lower suspension arm up to the swaybar
i will have to look for that antirock system

I run a SuperLift 4" kit on my 01.... and have my front swaybar disconected, and zip tied up..

I cant really tell MUCH difference on the road disconnected, just a little more lean in corners.. but then again it's a jeep not a Z-3 roadster and I drive accordingly.

its my daily driver as well, but I only live a mile from my work

i dont even have my front sway bars connected
havn't since bout 2nd week of owning them just use some short bungee straps and push the sway bar links up towards body and there is a hole there to stap to and mine have been secure in that spot for over a year now :}

same with Vector
U will notice a slight difference in on-road handling on the sharp corners but just dont be racing and u will be fine :}

just dont disconnect your rear ones.. u dont need to worry bout them

I love my Anti-Rock. Put it on there two years ago. Left it in the loosest setting and haven't thought about it since. :D
