I'm not too fluent in model designations, but am I correct that a Cherokee is an XJ?
If so, it's my understanding that power steering components from a Cherokee will fit my YJ. Anyone know, off the top of their head, what years of Cherokee I should be looking at to snag the parts I need to convert my factory 89 w/o power steering?
As I'm running a small block Chevy, I'll get a power steering pump to fit that, then have hoses made to supply the steering box.
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks,
Frank

Think I answered my own question. Got to looking up replacement parts by number and find that a 99 Cherokee (just grabbed a year out of the air) power steering pump is the same part number as the one for my YJ.

I think XJ's use 3 bolt steering gears the YJ uses 4 but you can still swap it you just end up with an extra hole in the frame.
