Awhile back I had asked a question about a front end rattle, one piece of advice was that the front sway bar links are weak, or get weak. After desiphering what is what (thanks to this forum) I found the front sway bar links. When I grab them and give a little push pull back and forth I do get some movement. Does that mean they are shot, or on their way out? Do I need to replace them? Do I use stock, or aftermarket? This rig will not be doing alot of off roading at this time. If I do need to replace them, is the install as easy as taking the bolts off and reinstalling, or is there more to it?

I also noticed tonight and wanted to ask about the part directly below the bottom mount of the sway bar link on the passenger side, it looks like a steel plate that has a upper and lower bolt, well the lower bolt looks like it gets rubbed a little by the steering mechanism directly in front of it, I would guess on right hand turns. Is this something to be concerned about?
Thanks again for all of your help, Scooby

what are these things you guys are talking about!?! sway bar end links?! huh??

just kidding.....
i've been running swaybar-less for a little over 2 years now. and since I've never had any problems running without it, it'll stay that way until my jeep gets much bigger. so that's always an option as well.

but jks and re are probly the brands i've seen/heard alot of guys using.

that would help narrow the search if it isn't your endlinks that are rattling. one of my end links broke a few years back and i just took it off and never got around to replacing or upgrading, so i ended up just taking my whole sway bar off.

so i took off the swaybar links and i do notice the extra body roll.. it seems that the noise is a bit louder now :( I couldnt get the lower bolts loose on the links but i got both top bolts loose and removed the bar so now the bar is just hanging down while the links are still pointing upwards. It raddlles even more now. :( I'm new to jeep so i dont know for sure but from my car world this would lead to control arm bushings..
