Hi all, took the new Rubi out for it's first run this weekend. The swaybar disconnect system left me scratching my head :confused:

It's got one disconnect at the top (end of the swaybar). This leaves the swaybar itself dangling down as well as the two connecting links loose. Those actually kept swinging down so they were pointing at the ground! Pic shows it pretty well...did the previous owner get these on wrong? Did I miss a step in getting these disconnected?

Disconnect it from here:

Disconnect just one side so it doesn't hang down, then zip tie the link to the sway bar.

Or buy an antirock. That's the smart choice

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Probably not clear in the picture (too much mud :) ). Looking just to the left of the circle you can see the swaybar hanging down with a pin sticking out.

These are a quick disconnect with a pin, it's just that the disconnect seems to me like it's on the wrong end?! I'd think you'd want to disconnect at the *axle* and then tie the bar / end link up out of the way. As it's set up now I disconnect the end link from the bar but it stays bolted to the axle.

Have you guys seen this setup before or is this just not installed correctly? I don't see a way to flip the end link as the axle connection and the bar connection are different beasts. Best I can tell this is working as designed...it's just a lame design.

Google'n "antirock" now :)

Yeah it looks like it was installed upside down or something. The pin is supposed to disconnect the sway bar from the axle end.

The antirock is awesome, but expensive. I love mine though :)

Did some reading on the Currie setup, looks like it's (essentially) a thinner sway bar. From their site "CAUTION: Jeeps will have more body roll than stock. This sway bar may be used on the street however, it will not provide the same performance as the stock setup."

My TJ is my daily driver and regularly sees 75mph down the freeway...any of you running the antirock setup and doing the same? If so, what are your thoughts on the stability? As well, does it provide as much flex off road as no sway bar at all?

It is thinner but a chrome-alloy shaft. Personally my jeep has better on road manors now.

Yes I daily drive my jeep and drive 70-75mph on the interstate for 4 hrs when I come home from school. The body roll is minimal and you get used to it. Doesn't feel like its going to flip over or anything. It doesn't limit any useable travel either. Here is mine with the antirock

Thanks for the pictures, doing some research on the antirock. As far as my setup, nobody has quick discos that look like that?

What you have looks like somebody's home-brewed effort to create their own unit that was similar to the JKS quick disconnects... but something was lost in the execution.

Add me to the happy antirock owners list. I drive highway speeds everyday with no issues whatsoever. Get it and you'll never need anything else again, its fantastic.

It looks like they are installed upside down. The shorter end of the 2 piece system should be on bottom. Flip it around and then zip tie it up when you disco to off road so it doesnt stab or get caught on anything.
