I am ready to start picking up parts to get rid of my dropped transfer case skid. A few questions about what I need. My '99" TJ has a 4" suspension lift and no body lift.

1. Should I get the standard SYE or the super short one?

2. Do I need to alter anything else or just put in the SYE and new drive shaft?

3. Can the SYE be installed with the TC in the Jeep or does it need to be pulled?

4. Any recommendations on brands or where to buy parts?

I did all the work in place. Put the SYE in and change drive shaft. I purchased everything from Tom woods. The only thing u need is a good pair of snap ring pliers and they need to be on the big side. The other tool is like a snap ring pliers but it has flat ends don't know the correct name. But it's not hard at all.

Do it while its till in the jeep. Not real hard but the lock rings are a pain. Get lock ring pliers. I tried to use snap ring pliers and was unsuccessful. Other than that there is nothing special needed.

1. Do you EVER want to do a TT? Thought about it? IF so.... I? would suggest the megashort SYE to give better angles.

2. Adjustable upper control arms ( I suggest lowers as well )
adjustable rear track bar and/or angled rear CV track bar bracket from Currie, JKS or RE
Possible rear shock relocators
Not to mention, the SYE and double cardan CV shaft.

3. Either in our out, it can be installed... I prefer out....

4. I have a RR but should have went with AA or JB

Thanks Todd, when you mentioned adjustable control arms, are you talking rears? And if so is that to get more pinion angle? Also, is shoving my TC back up to stock location going to affect my front drive shaft with having the 4" lift? It has a Skyjacker lift (I know..!) with longer fixed lower control arms on it now.

I'm at 3.5 with a belly up and the stock is fine up front.

If you want to get rid of the transfer drop you will need upper adjustable control arms to keep drive line correct

Yes... adj. CA's for rear. You will need them to adjust your pinion angle after the SYE and new CV shaft to run properly. The adj. track bar and/or rear angled CV track bar bracket will be a must with the SYE.

Once you adjust your pinion angle, your stock trackbar will be too far out of alignment with a standard bracket and bind up ( which you most likely have with the 4" Skyjacker ) RE1602, JKS or Currie sells them... all do the same thing.

Stock location for belly pan will be fine for front.. no issues to worry about there.
