I get it...by all accounts, the stock radio in my 2013 JK is complete crap..and I've lived with it.

Anyhow, I had the Takata airbag recall service done and now it seems that both FM and AM reception have gotten worse and now includes a subtle, whining, high-pitched background tone which makes it basically unusable / un-listenable.

I have no evidence to directly support a conclusion that the recall work made my radio worse, but the timing is suspicious.

Can anyone offer a theory of whether or not it could've affected the antenna cable and/or other audio components?

Thanks.

Hi kendopunk,
I understand why this may be frustrating. We're very glad to hear that this recall has been completed on your vehicle but we do recommend revisiting your dealer for further inspection of your radio. We'd be happy to assist with this process as well. If you decide to do so, please send us a private message.
