I recently put the Howell CA CARB legal TBI on my 1988 Wrangler. I just noticed that I did not plug off the port on my catalytic converter that served the pulse air system. It is time for a smog check. If this is not plugged, will it fail the smog, (I'm sure it will since I live in CA )and most importantly will that change how the engine runs? Thanks!

i just pinched mine closed with vice grips when I installed my Howell. I didn't actually answer your question, but it's easy to do before you take it in. Also, bring your install manual with you, they didn't like my edelbrock air cleaner and said I needed the stock one on..... I had to show them the picture in the manual of the aftermarket air cleaner.

Thanks for the reply. I took a 1/2" copper cap which fit real snug and tapped it onto the outlet. Fit real nice and looks clean.
