well y'all, we had a great time out in Llano this weekend. drank some beer with Simple Scout and his buddy, Jeeptales showed up with chingoes of Lone Star. met some new folks (including trench who i see joined up) and just had a helluva time.
my jeep did pretty good. i didnt tear anything up other than a few dings and a clunking rear driveshaft (which i see the casue now) and rode some awesome trails. the weather was kinda nasty the first day, making the trails a little harder than they shoulda been, but we managed anyway.
me, trench, and a couple other guys had a run in with some "junkyard dog bees" (as i have identified them). they chased our azzes around for 30 minutes and were firmly in control of the jeeps for a solid 30 minutes. one of the downsides to being at the rear of the group (and having no doors/windows) is when the stuff gets hairy....like....i dunno....a swarm of bees attacks you...everyone else just rolls their windows up and keeps on driving. for us tho......we were stuck.
luckily Greg (jeeptales) gave us some sting killer stuff for all the stings and another guy had benadryl so we wouldnt die.
anyway....good time for me...hopefully for everyone else too.
my pics are all here: http://76.162.62.189/carl/photo_gallery_texas_spur.htm
but ill post a few favs also. btw, in the first pic, they brought out a line b/c they assumed i would need it b/c the prior 3 jeeps needed it.....i did not :flipoff:
see Scout, GOOD trail guides give you a line so you wont endo :flipoff:
