5.13 is better than 4.88 but 5.38 would be even better. I recently regeared my automatic Rubicon with 35's from 4.88 to 5.38 and even it could still stand a few more rpms on the highway. Especially with your 3.8L engine.



I am going to be running 35's on my YJ with a 4.0/NV4500 and was planning on going with 4.88's. But now everyone is telling me to go 5.13 or 5.38. I am worried that even with the NV4500s 0.73 overdrive my RPM is going to be way to high at 70MPH on the interstate.

I’m running 4:88s with 35s in my tj with a 5 spd and it’s on point!!!
