has anyone used one of these? im triying to boost the highway milage a bit onthe wifes wrangler. i already added a Gibson catback and Banks cold air induction kit. these did nothign for milage but it feels like its got more power and sounds decent. I have been checkingn out the Econoaid and Airraid units. I dont want to bother if they dont help the milage. Im open to recomendations if you hav eused something that worked for you.Thanks

Waste of money. Not much you can do to get more mileage out of the Jeep. It is like a brick in the wind. Do a search and you will see the posts about them. I am pretty sure I have never seen a positive post about one.

Is your Jeep lifted with bigger tires? Losing the lift and returning to stock tires will give you back some of your mpgs.

Otherwise, some of the tuners offer "economy" tuning options. I understand the overall experience with those tunes however is to drain power, so if you were hoping for power plus better mpg's those aren't going to help too much.

There's just not much that can be done mechanically, which is why better driving habits, returning to stock tires, and a tuner is about all most folks can do.

Unless of course you wanted to install a supercharger, which should net better gas mileage and a substantial increase in power. :D

**Edit: Oh, and the throttle body spacers are snake oil. I've heard mixed reviews on the intakes/exhausts, but I've never heard anybody proclaim the benefits of TBSs. At most, folks are neutral to them--i.e., "I installed it and noticed nothing."

Thanks for the input I knew others would have tried them and i could get an honest review. Im running stock size tires and no lift. We dont use it off road due to it breaking down in our first attempt to go up a dirt road while attempting to engage four wheel low the bushing in the transfer case linkage shattered resulting in an off road recovery being required. its never been on dirt since I cant afford that kind of fun due to the few inches of snow on the ground conventional towing wasnt available. The vehicle had just over 2000 miles on it when that failure occured. If we had GAP insurance the dam thing would still be in the forest down a really really steep hill.

The idea is to stack them as alone they do not provide a benefit. I currently run four i made at home out of an old mailbox. Runs great.

You need to head down to the dealer and grab up a handful of those bushings. They are cheap and will save you from getting stranded. There are other easy fixes out on the trail too but a spare part is better. Getting into 4 low can be tricky in the jeep. Never force it. Take that thing offroad again with another rig to get your confidence back up.

That bushing is designed to break instead of the internal parts of your transfer case. Review the proper procedure in you owner's manual for engaging 4WD.

I don't understand your reference to GAP insurance. That applies in an accident when your loan is more than your equity.
