I was driving home on a hot sunny So Cal day with the AC on in my 4.0 wrangler, and i noticed my outo trans started to make a ticking sound when I was driving. I assume it got HOT??. it's stock geared (3.07's) running 33" tall tires.

This is the first time this has happened, since I replaced the trans fluid and filter. Should I be concerned with having to change it again?? The fluid still appears to be RED and doesnt smell burnt.

I am looking into purchasing a Derale direct fit automatic trans cooler kit from Quadratrcec. Has anyone installed one of these, and have you had good results.

your input would be helpful

Thanks

The larger tires on the stock gearing is probably leading to some overheating, although im not sure of that can cause ticking. You may want to look at rehearing, but as far as what gears for your jeep im not sure, as I have a manual. Im sure some others will chime in shortly :wavey:
