The past few days were the first that were "cold" here since I got my 11 Wrangler. Not what I consider even close to cold really, in the 20's. When I started it the past few mornings I get a second of ticking which is the no oil in the top end noise that quickly goes away. My wife's 3.6 has never done that, even in much colder weather.

Is that something I need to get used to with the 3.8 or a problem? I hate to think what it's going to do when it really gets cold here.

Thanks in advance!

I live in south dakota. 20 below zero 4 mornings last week switched to a wix oil filter no more ticking or knock on start up.

Sounds like a plan!! Thanks!! Just wondered if it was a correctable issue or a 3.8 engine thing because I didn't like that dry top end sound and really was not comfortable hearing it. Especially not from a vehicle that just sat overnight with a fresh oil change by the dealership just a few days before.
