i know i will have to change the mount.

BUT will the gate support a 31" tire ok? ( i dont want to spring it putting to big of one on there.

i thought about making one , and i could , but i dont really have the time or energy.

i dont want to pay $350 for a new bummper/hitch/tire carrier combo.
i like the clean look of it. but just dont want to spend it if i dont have to.

so for now i was thinking about just a $120 hitch and upgrade the stock
tire mount to one that will take a 31". ( if it will hold it with out tearing some thing up) i am trying to avoid that.

so for under $200 this would serve my needs.
unless there is a tow rated combo out there for 250ish.

or you have a option i have not thought of.
thanks in advance.

I run a 31 spare on my stock tire carrier and seems to be doing fine, I think it weights a good 60+lbs with the tire wheel combo. Not gonna get a tire carrier just yet.
Just looked. Make that about 70lbs. Sucks for a small guy like me.

Out standing , i did not think it would even fit on a stock one.

so now i will just pick up a hitch.
and use the extra cash for other stuff.

Many of us have 33's. My 33x12.5 has been on for 5+ years. The IMPORTANT part is that the rubber bumpers remain in contact with the tire. Space them out or trim as required.

Note 31's are no issue. The Rubicon has 31's as stock.
