Hi, I currently have 33x12.50x15 tires on my 93. I would like to get bigger rims but I am wondering what sort of thing I should consider and what I can do.

this is my first jeep and I am in the process of 'remodeling', I plan on taking it mudding when its ready, so I was wondering if that should be considered when shopping for bigger size rims.

Without changing anything in the car, what size tires/wheel combos can I put in now?

thank you!

Well...

Your profile says you have a 4" lift. You might be able to get away with 35s if you aren't off the street, but if you flex at all, you will more than likely rub.

As far as a bigger rim, why? What is the advantage of say a 17 over a 15? You'll pay more per tire.

Yes. Since I posted that I decided to stick with the 15s. Still very confusing trying to figure out backspacing and all the questions they ask buying something online. Aaarrgghh!

Thanks!

Here are 15X10 with a 3.75 back spacing on the rims and 33X12.5 tires on a 4" suspension and 1" body.

No flare gives you an idea of the back spacing. They hang out 9 inches.

With a 6" flare it's not bad. I have plenty of clearance. No rubbing.

It's a pretty respectable look.

Google back spacing and you'll get a good understanding on how it all works. Most of the sites will have pictures that explain it all.

From what I've read and have been told 35's will rub on my setup. After looking at the clearance with the 33's I know it's true. I'm glad I stayed with the 33's this year.

I have a 4" lift and run 315s, which is like a 34 and a half inch tire. They will rub a little on the road. I also have 17's but I just think they look better, no advantage at all haha.
