So I'm going to be heading to Moab in a couple of months and I want to make sure I have a good set of tires for the trip.

I'm driving a '12 JK sport 2 door with a 2.5" lift and 35" Duratracs right now. I've got the front axle trussed and gusseted, 4.56 gears and selectable lockers front and rear. I will be looking at 35" tires. No bigger.

I hear that the Duratrac isn't the best for the rocks out in Moab so I want to put a set of tires on the Jeep that will do well on the trails out there but also be decent for driving out there and back on the freeway, roughly 1200 miles one way.

At the top of my list right now is the MT/R in 315/75R16. It appears to be a good all-around tire that will do better in the rocks and handle sidewall abuse a lot better than the Duratrac while still being acceptable for highway use. Is there a better choice?
