We just bought a 2006 TJ. Love the Jeep, hate the smell. It reeks of cigarettes. I ripped out all the carpet but it is still bad. The seats are pretty nasty anyway, so I'd like to replace them. Any good options?
I bought a Florida State Trooper Mustang once, it had the same smell. I had to replace all of the interior including the A/C ducts and dash to cure it.

Also, the stock seat belts... those neck snapping locking belts are driving me nuts.

Any thoughts on the whole seat and belt issues? Aftermarket seats? Or just find some stock seats that don't smell like a casino?

After doing some searching on seats I see I need to add that I have a 2 door and would still like access to the back seat when it is in.
And I'm a big guy. So tight buckets are going to be a problem.
Looking at the PRP Daily Driver series. I would have to buy a used rear seat.

We bought a 05 TJ back in Jan and the interior was pretty dirty and smelled. we took out all the seats, the center console and carpet. Blasted carpet with pressure washer and ended up hitting the seats as well, the gunk that flowed out was pretty nasty, lots of spilled sodas, etc., even pulled the drain plugs and blasted the interior with the pressure washer (not the dash), never pressure washed a seat before but they are very hardy and cleaned up well. let dry for several days before reinstalling. Smells and dirt gone. Bought a set of Bartact seat covers for the front and back seats, to freshen up the look. Fit is really good and while not cheap for seat covers, much cheaper than all new seats...

Paracord strap around bottom of headrest is my own custom touch, makes it easier for back seat passengers (kids) to pull the seat back.

Febreeze really does a good job at deodorizing interiors. There is also some REALLY powerful stuff sold in pet stores, just a drop or two in a small area obliterates and removes odors... it doesn't just mask them.
