Hello. I have a 98 wrangler. Just put in a new face plate witch made a lot of speaker issues apparent. The front speakers on the dash thump non stop. I also have a sub under my console that no longer works so all of the bass is going to my sound bar. Any advice?

Just put in a new face plate witch made a lot of speaker issues apparent.

- What kind of face plate?

The front speakers on the dash thump non stop.

- Thump meaning distorted? More bass that they can handle? This may be due to how you have them mounted, low quality speakers. What speakers do you have and what are you driving them with?

also have a sub under my console that no longer works so all of the bass is going to my sound bar.

The sub not working is not going to push more bass to the other speakers. Again, the above questions apply. What speakers and whay stereo do you have?

Was the sub working before?

I replaced all my speakers with the kickers from quadratec . They are all plug and play and work quite well.the sub took a little work to replace but over all not to bad
It's a pioneer premium face plate. Not sure about the speakers haven't tore into that yet. And the sub worked before
Well if your front speakers are just stock, they're probably mounted fine, but you're just distorting them with too much bass. You might check your sub in the console to make sure it isn't blown/torn anywhere
The speakers are pioneer and the sub stopped working after I switched face plates

Need some clarification. When you are saying "face plate" you mean you put in a new radio head unit?

If the sub does not work after the change, there is something wrong with the wiring. Was it plug/play connectors or did you have to cut and mate up to the stock wires. Did you make sure to connect the trigger wire to the sub? It should be blue.
It was an all new unit. Got the wire harness conected all the wire except for a mute wire and illumination. I'm thinking about just rewirering the sub. Would it help if I got boxes or filled the space behind the speakers?
Again something is not conected correctly at the rear of the head unit. Rewiring the sub is not going to do it.

As indicated above, you are overdriving the speakers. Turn the bass down.
Bass is all the way down and still doing it
The sub is a wiring issue, you didnt connect the remote turn on wire correctly

When you say thumb constantly you mean with the radio on and playing, or just radio on with the volume down. Is it music thump or something else?
Its with the music it's a hit and the shakes out
I bet your harness for the radio hasn't power up the sub turn on wire for the radio. If you used a harness look for the blue and the blue/ white wire on the harness to the jeep then connect both of those wires to the blue "remote" wire coming from the pioneer. This should activate your amp to turn on and make the sub work. If your radio can adjust bass and treble going to the front speakers separate from the rear dial back that bass. If not spend 10-15 bucks on what is called bass blockers. If you plan on changing speakers wire them in on the positive side of the wire. If you keep them stock wire the blockers in on the white and grey wires coming from the pioneer. Now you can set the bass a little higher to get some more out of the larger speakers over your head.
Make sure there isn't a setting on your pioneer radio that turns the sub on/off
Ok I have a blue wire coming from the harness and an orange and white and a yellow and black coming form the stereo
The pioneer should have a blue with a white tracer on it for remote sub turn on. The orange and white is for illumination and the yellow/black is a mute wire I believe
Yea I have the blue and whites connected
I didnt say anything about whites.....Im thinking you need to take it to a stereo shop
Its a blue wire with white stripes
Could you take a picture of all your wires connected and post it on here? I'm having a hard time remembering what my setup looked like
