Hi all

As you all know, the Infinity upgrade is not that great.
So, I replaced all Speakers and added a 12 inch subwoofer with an Alpine 550 Watt amp.

Question;
IS it possible that with all that bass to be bad for the Jeep?
Will all the vibration loosen screws/parts on the jeep?

thanks

Turn the gain down. Every nut in the Jeep that is critical is torqued so bass vibration will hardly matter.

It can cause rattles eventually, but it seems it would take longer in a Jeep since they're not as sealed as a car. And by eventually, I mean it would take it being cranked up and a long amount of time. I had a Ford Escort with a 1000w amp and 1 12 that pounded. God high school was a dumb time in my life.

The Gain is almost at ZERO and it is still has tons of Bass and Punch.

I think I should have gone with a 10 inch sub

You could sell your woofer on Craigslist and get a smaller one. I'm sure some kid wants to make his car into a rice burner. Just make sure to advertise that you are getting rid of it because it has too much bass. That should draw 'em in

If it sounds great then stop complaining lol

Anyway, try lowering it to 0 or -1, -2 etc in the subwoofer control setting on the head unit.

I replaced my 8" with a Kicker 8" and a sub. It's amazing how much difference that made. The factory enclosure is working fine.

It is possible to have too much bass. You're in a 2 door right? Me too- and I have the Kicker 10". I also have it turned way down. It's fine on normal songs- but on bass forward songs (techno, hip hop etc.) all I hear is bass. Rice burner city. Plus with it that close to the sound bar speakers- it cancels out some of the frequency on them. On a 4 door you have more spacing so I don't think its as apparent.
Kicker found that long term the factory enclosures (rear and sound bar) do in fact rattle. They're not exactly high quality as someone's audio installer mentioned. All that said- the designer for Kicker said it best- if you think you have too much bass- you're too old! And the bass drowns out the rattles anyway.
