Here are some pictures I got while checking out the Tooele (two-ill-ah) County Trails.

The trails are kind of cool. They are marked as private property and behind gates, but the gates are not locked and the signs simply ask that you stay on the trials, clean up after yourself and close the gates behind you.

Although I didn't try anything too challenging since I was by myself, there was a good range of 4-wheeling to be found.

I ran into a few of the locals, just standing around grazing, but they didn't seem to mind sharing their area with me.

Even found some mud to dirty up the Jeep.

High above the Great Salt Lake, where you can see I-80 cutting through it's edge.

And all about a 35 minute drive from Salt Lake City.

Where's your favorite close-by place to go off roading?

I have run some of those trails along with a few trails on the Skull Valley side and there are some nice views and lot of land to cover.

You are right around the corner from the 5 mile area which has some great trails.

Other local trails are little Moab, 5 mile, skyline drive, and AF canyon has several good trails including mineral basin.

Did skull valley and white rocks in February. With a couple if guys on JeepForum. Had a great time, froze our butts off camping. Fun area, nice views and terrain that doesn't beat up your rig.
A lot of your pics look familiar. Lol we almost got high centered on some massive cow patties in the middle of the trail. A lot of guys post rides and overnight trips on JF if you want to ride with others.
Here's a few pics around white rocks.

I tried to answer the private message, but their inbox was too full, so to the question about the pedal decals on the back of my Jeep:

One of the few requirements when I was buying my Wrangler was that it had to have a manual transmission. Unfortunately, all the manuals on the lots when I was looking were optioned out, running for around $37K. I thought I wasn't going to be able to get a new one until one dealer suggested he try building one that fit in my budget, will the options I required. He did, I got it, and the three pedals on the back reflect that it is a manual.

I'll have to head over there and check it out, it would be great to head out with a group.

Yeah been on about 4 rides with forum guys since moving out here 8 months ago.
You just need to know your limitations and stick to what ur comfortable with.
Last time out a 5 mile I was with a couple of very modified TJs. Conditions were right and 3 of them made it up Wayne's world. Just me and my buddy that has a TJ modified similar to my JK. They were egging us on to try it. I wouldn't do it because it was beyond the capability of my rig.
Lol I joked that my skirt might get caught in the door as I was getting in. Plus I use my jeep to commute to work in SLC. So they talked my buddy into it and not only did he not make it even halfway up, but crunched his rocker panel and bent his rear passenger side axle shaft.
Going to do Bountiful on Friday with 2 guys from this forum. PM me if u want to go. I've not been there, but is supposed to be pretty tame terrain.
