I'm wiring up my 97 TJ to be towed behind my truck and wonder if anyone can tell me where to tap in for the the lights. I know i can tap into the turn signals up front for turning, but what about brake lights ? Do I have to go all the way back to the tail lights for that? Thanks for the help

yes, you'll have to go all the way back to the tail lights. you will need to make a wiring harness that uses diodes. some people do not like them because they can be problematic.

Or you can buy magnetic tow lights. these run about $10 (with coupon on sale) from HF. some people do not like these because they take more time & effort to set up each time.
