Just curious what everybody does to prevent their hitch receivers from rusting. With the salt on the roads I don't think I see any vehicles with hitches that have no rust after a few years.

Just about to put my rugged ridge hitch on and the powdercoating is not the best quality and I don't see it lasting a long time.

Was thinking to give it a shot of rubberized undercoating, that way would be easy to touch up.

POR15 and top coat with a rattle can on bed liner
The hitch is brand new so might just scuff it up with a scotch-brite and use some rubberized rocker guard.

Maybe should of sprung for a better quality hitch but figure down the road will get a metal number with a built in receiver.

I am in Canada but a company called Dominion Sure Seal makes a good product. Used it on a car that got scraped up on the bottom and it was still there 8 years later.
