your best bet is about an hour or hour and a half north.
you have the withlacootchie state forest and there are plenty of jeep trails in there (stay on numbered fire roads to avoid hefty fines).
you have the park at wildwood and the jeep ranch (both have entrance fees, not bad places to play around) you're almost guaranteed not to be alone on the trails (not a bad thing for first time jeepers).
a little further norther you have the ocala national forest and hard rock. hard rock is an off road park, like the jeep ranch and the park at wildwood. been around a lot longer, trails are a little more mature, and there's more of it. the national forest is expansive. many trails off of state road 40.... lots of fun to be had in the forest.
if you're wheeling alone, make sure you tell someone where you're going and when you expect to be back. lots of unforeseen stuff can happen, don't want to be stranded out there waiting for help.
