So I searched around but I cant seem to find what im looking for.
I recently picked up a 12 jku mw3 edition rubicon, I'm a bit confused on my identifying my tc.
It should have the rock trac 4:1 and id does look like it is, but the tag concerns me its stamped mp241 and under ratio it shows 4.0 no damp.. Obviously the dampener is not there but no OR and 4.0 is where my confusion lies. 20160316_181838.jpg

Sorry i may have been unclear with my question. My build sheet says I have the rock Trac 4:1 HD transfer case and the rear d44 has 4.10 gears.
My question is, is the transfer case pictured above correct with my build sheet, and if so why the 4.0 ratio? Is it because it's an auto transmission?

i know the 4:1 ratio is actually a 4.0:1 so it would seem that the older new process tcases (both tj and early jk rubicons) were stamped 4.1 and the magna powertrain tcases were stamped 4.0

This has come up before with 2012 Rubicon transfer cases in how they were marked. You have the correct 4:1 Rubicon transfer case. It will be marked on the tag "4.0". It will also be marked as "MP241". It's the correct original transfer case for your 12 Rubicon.
