I have a 2000 TJ with a 4.0l and 5 speed tranny and lately the check engine light has been going on and off so i went to AutoZone to check it and I got the trouble code P0743: An open or shorted condition detected in the torque convertor clutch solenoid control circuit.

Except i dont have a torque converter...

Is there some part of the wireing harness that exists on manual and automatic that could cause this?

I bought it used with 2 previous owners but it is higly doubtful.
like I have the shift reminder light and that works properly and that makes me think it came with the manual.

there is a fuse for that solenoid, try checking that? 10amps I believe.

did you check for any loose wiring under the jeep?
